Product Description

There are two enrollment options for this course. Please read the information for each option carefully before making your selection.

  • Enrollment Option A (for not-highly-qualified): Enroll in this Option A if you are not highly-qualified in the subject-area of this course or wish to add a subject-area to your certification. Option A includes both 1) the online course to prepare you to be highly-effective in a new subject assignment and 2) the appropriate state teacher certification test (varies from state-to-state some using Praxis or other state approved subject-area test) that upon passing offers the designation of highly-qualified.  Whatever state you are teaching in, there is a state approved test for certification as highly-qualified by subject and that test and Option A provides test prep material (where available) is included in your registration.  Note that, in some states, 3 semester credits are awarded toward license renewal when passing the subject-area test.  Option A also awards hours / points in those states that accept non-college credit continuing education units / hours (the equivalent of 3 non-academic credits as opposed to graduate credit) toward license renewal when passing the subject-specific online course test.
  • Enrollment Option B (for highly-qualified): Enroll in this Option B if you are highly-qualified in the subject-area but are new to teaching the specific subject.  Option B prepares you to be highly-effective in the subject and awards hours / units / points, in those states that accept non-college credit continuing education credit (the equivalent of 3 non-academic credits as opposed to graduate credit), toward license renewal for passing the subject-specific online course post-test.  The total enrollment fee for this Option B is less than Option A as the fees for the subject-area certification test and certification test study guide are not included.
